Isothermal amplification reagents
Isothermal amplification is a low-cost and rapid method for detecting low amounts of DNA or RNA. This technique eliminates the need for a thermal cycler and is increasingly used in rugged field or point of care settings for the rapid diagnosis of plant pathogens or infectious disease agents.
LGC, Biosearch Technologies offers rapid and sensitive loop-mediated isothermal amplification (LAMP) kits and master mixes, in addition to DNA polymerases with high strand displacement activity, like Bst or phi29 DNA polymerases. These reagents allow researchers to perform assays outside of high-tech laboratories using low complexity instrumentation.
All of our assays are built around a proprietary DNA polymerase with strand displacement activity that works on both RNA and DNA templates, and our master mix formulations have been specifically optimised for each template type.
Advantages of isothermal amplification with LGC, Biosearch Technologies:
- Lyophilisation-ready reagents: Specially formulated for room temperature stability in the absence of glycerol and betaine.
- High Thermal Stability: Highly thermostable enzymes (up to 90°C for 5 min) enables preheating of reactions containing purified target which, depending on the target, may increase assay sensitivity and decrease time to results.
- Elevated LAMP Reaction Temperature (68-74°C): Improves primer specificity and reduces background amplification depending on the target.
- Customisable: Once primers are optimised with the LavaLAMP™ Master Mix, we can work with you to generate custom master mixes further optimised for your target and generate bulk reagents that match your specific needs.
