Product information

Hapten reagents allow you to synthesize your own custom conjugates. Keyhole limpet hemocyanin (KLH) is a carrier protein with a molecular weight ranging from 3,000,000-7,500,000, and has many available primary amines to facilitate protein conjugation. KLH is used to immunize animals to elicit antibodies to small molecules (haptens) by covalent conjugation.

Properties:

  • Appearance: blue grey powder
  • CAS Number: 9013-72-3

Product usage:

Dissolve KLH at concentration of 5-10 mg/ml in PBS or other physiological buffer by gentle addition of the buffer. Do not vortex or agitate vigorously to dissolve the protein. KLH is an extremely large protein complex that has a tendency to to aggregate and precipitate from solutions.Store solution in aliquots at +5°C. KLH will come out of solution if frozen.

Storage and handling:

  • Shipping conditions: Ambient
  • Storage conditions: +5 °C
